I heard so much about the ring of fire when planning my last natural childbirth.

I don't know if having a water birth cancelled out the fire feeling, but honestly, I think "ring of fire" sounds a lot better than what I ACTUALLY felt pushing the baby out.

But most people describe it as ring of fire. For me it just felt like my ENTIRE body was going to split in two. I was in SO MUCH pain that I don't think I could have "localized" the pain to a ring of anything anywhere.

Is this unusual?

I still plan on having another NCB and thought my NCB was 1000 times better than my epi births. I just don't seem to be on the same page as most people regarding the pain of pushing.
