I coslept with my son, and he would refuse to go to sleep with my husband. I worried about leaving him with my parents but do you know he fell asleep nicely, and slept in the rock n play without a problem? Everytime he went over there was the same way. I think he associated DH with me and gave him issues, Mel is the same way. Emily will be fine, your mom will probably find her own special way to put her to sleep that works for them. If you're worried though maybe try it for a night beforehand (it will give you and DH some much needed alone time) and if she's having major issues you can always drive over and help out.
