Hi,

Just found out that we are expecting in early December. I have always wanted to have a natural home waterbirth. We live in Fort McMurray and from what I am finding out, there are NO midwives here at all! The closest we have would be to drive 5 hours to give birth in Edmonton. That worries me a little, what if my husband couldn't get there in time...its a horrible highway to drive on...etc. So many variable.

Does anyone know any information about natural birth options in Fort Mcmurray, Alberta. I am hoping to find a midwife who can assist, but I don't think it's likely. I have even considered an unassisted birth. However, seeing as this is my first baby I am a little nervous about doing it alone! I don't know what to expect.

Any information or ideas would be super helpful! Also recommendations for midwives in Edmonton, AB or surrounding areas would be great.

Thanks!
