I find it odd they are concerned. My son was about that weight at 2 months. That weight puts him between 25th and 50th percentile, according to the US charts. Keep in mind that those growth charts include lots of formula fed babies who tend to weigh more. Breastfed babies can be on the smaller end. As long as he is gaining and maintaining the percentile I would absolutely not be concerned. I would only be concerned if his weight drops below the 5th percentile for two consecutive visits. Then you could be looking at failure to thrive, or even then, just have a really small baby. Please don't let them scare you into using formula. There is no need to worry! What was his birth weight?
