I never really paid attention to the "500 calorie rule." I don't think I ever needed that many extra calories. I just ate when I was hungry and didn't really worry too much. I also drank a lot of water back then. That seemed to help with my supply a lot. As long as my supply was good and baby was growing, I just didn't worry too much.
