I had GD with my last 2 pregnancies. I was able to control it with Glyburide for my fasting # and strick ultra low carb diet...I'm talking I used the low carb wraps but couldn't eat bread, fruit or any starchy veggies. I ended up eating higher fat, raising my cholesterol because I was so limited. After the last pregnancy my blood sugars were borderline.
I have been able to bring my A1C down since with weight loss and exercise. A surprise pregnancy this time around. I'm guess I'm around 5 weeks? My sugars are really high. Yesterday my fasting was 120. An hour after a cup of coffee with a little skim milk today it was 151.
I don't want to use glyburide anymore, I've ready is can exhaust your insulin supply earlier. Thinking I may request insulin this time
I'm just so mad that this is happening so early this time. Anyone else have this happen so early in pregnancy?
