I was so lucky. My hospital was all about natural birth! They don't even offer epidurals, I'd have to be transfered to a hospital 45+ minutes away if I wanted one. I did use gas during my LO's delivery, but that was all me asking for it, nobody offered anything. My labour did progress nicely on it's own, so I was never faced with coming up with a way to move things along, but I have heard that even the Drs will get after nurses who want to use Pit vs providing a breast pump.(I had a midwife) I guess the only issue I ran into was that they don't allow water births, but I was able to stay in the tub as long as I wanted until it was go time. I was pretty grateful that my experience was so positive.
