I think coming to you for comfort and spending the night in your bed don't have to be one and the same thing. It should stop at comfort, especially since you don't seem to be cool with him sleeping in your bed. Comfort him. Give him a drink. Give him a hug. Then gently guide him back to his bedroom. Arrange whatever stuffed animals or night-light he wants in there. Tell him to think good thoughts about the things he loves, but be firm that it's nighttime. He'll know he can come out and get you and be comforted, but won't expect to sleep in your bed either. That is what we do. It works for us.
