Like Jackie, the idea appeals to me, im the leave me alone during labour type, however, i do not have the medical training needed for a true emergency situation. So while we are always prepared for the possibility i could go faster than the MW could get here, a UA birth is not something i would plan on doing
Honestly cord around the neck is so so common, its not really a medical emergency, like jackie said its really one of the least of your worries.
That being said, if you and whoever you plan to have with you for birth, educate yourselves about what to do in a true emergency, signs to look for ect then it can be a very safe and empowering experience.
