First of all, I'm not expecting.... but the sight of a newborn no longer causes me great stress and anxiety... (that only took about 6 months pp!)

My first was an *almost* natural, midwife attended, hospital birth. And most things went well. (I used the gas for relief while pushing, and I had a small hemorrhage.

If the hemorrhage doesn't rule me out for midwifery care in the future, it would be my dream to have a homebirth. (I'd like to rent/buy a tub for a water birth-not an option at the hospital)

What I am wondering is, how far from the hospital, would you have to be to no longer feel comfortable having a homebirth? I know my midwives mentioned a limit, but I don't remember what that was? We live very rurally, so this might be my only obstacle. I really feel the need to prepare mentally for and accept this now, even if there are years before baby #2!
