My oldest took the required state test last week. (The test that gives the school grade.) She's a smart cookie so I'm sure she'll get at least a passing score. In 3rd grade, a student who scores a level 1, in Reading, will be retained. Level 2 passes but isn't considered proficient, I think that's the word. The highest is a 5.
My state has a different test for K-5 in Reading that all the girls took last year. But, my county opted to not give that test again, instead using a test that they developed themselves.
