Hello all! My DH and I are expecting our first baby in December. My first language is french and his is english and we live in a mainly anglophone city, but because we plan on raising our kids bilingually, it's important for us to have names that work in both languages. For girls, this is easy! We've already picked Laura Marie (our grandmothers' first names) for a girl, but are having a heck of a time for a boy. Here are our ideas so far:

Alain JoŽl (my FIL's middle name is Allen, my brother's first name is JoŽl)
Charles JoŽl
Henri JoŽl (I'm not such a huge fan of this one)

We don't want to use JoŽl as a first name to save confusion. My brother's girlfriend's name is Joanne and we can only have so many Jos! Also other bilingual names like Paul, David, and Daniel are names of good friends we don't necessarily want to name our kids after.

Opinions or suggestions?
