It can take a while.
I would also up your fat intake to make your milk fattier, a LOT of women do this who nurse.
Three top things to eat: oatmeal (just great in general for milk production), coconut oil (cook with it, put it in your coffee or w/e, just something) and avocados.
That should plump him right up.
