Is the idea of a homebirth all yours, or is it something that your family does?

My grandma did have her children at home, as well as her mother. They enlisted the help of other mothers in the family and the hospital was never even brought up. However, my grandma is not supportive of me doing the same. She talks about all the "advances in medicine" and such and worries too much. I wish she would just think back and remember how easy it was for them, and she might change her tune. Oh well, I dont need my family falling all over themselves to help me. I guess I would rather them just not know until too late! LOL! My aunts gave birth at home with midwifes... but they could afford it. They loved it, and said that they wouldnt have babies anyother place but at home!
