According to the camera shop here 8mp is more than enough to do even a 16X24 which is normally bigger than most people want anyway. Most draw the line at 10X13. So even if you want to start a business 8mp is great. If I recall, one of the leading studios here uses an 8mp nikon as their main camera. Its about a 1700 camera and the photographer I spoke with prior to ordering my rebel said the rebel was just as good, if not better due to the money saved! If you are really worried about the mp, Dell.com has the XTi for right around 800....but unless you are gonna be doing a lot of action sports shots the only noticeable difference will be the larger view screen....but I'd gladly give up a little view screen for a quality zoom lense!
