It is so hard here, there are no registered midwives, there are 3 OBs and over 80 babies born a month. Many women seek homebirths, this particular mother did. Midwifery isn't covered by healthcare (which means you have to pay out of pocket whereas a Dr/hospital is 100% covered) and costs $3000 currently. This mother wanted to do that, hire a midwife, but there were none for hire. I was in the same spot when I had Julius. She approached my friend and myself and we helped her have her homebirth.
