I met with my midwife today ( I LOVE her!) and we were discussing all the various tests and diagnostics she is required to offer me by state law. I am pretty familiar with all the baby ones (eye oitnment, Vit K, etc) but one that threw me is the Group B strep.

She can do it if i want her to - but she says a lot of moms don't do it and watch the baby closely for any signs of infection... She also said if I test positive then i could not have a home birth because an IV antibiotic would be needed during labor.

For those of you who have had a HB before - did you do a Group B test? why or why not?
