I can only speak for myself, but to me discussing whether mormonism fits the definition of christianity isn't a condemnation. It's an interesting topic because there are significant differences between lds and what are generally considered to be more mainstream christian religions. I agree that discussing what, exactly, makes one a Christian is a great debate topic. However, that is not how it was brought up here. This thread was started with statements like "I don't know why anyone would ever choose to be Mormon" and "Mormons aren't Christian" coupled with an article claiming that the LDS Church is a cult.
