Let's see... when I found out that I was pregnant, I worked as a hostess in a buffet at the local casino. Needless to say morning sickness+walking ALL day+smoke everywhere= no fun. I quit about 2 weeks after I found out. I did love that job, but they literally do not let you sit down at all during the day unless you're on a break, and doctors recommend no more than 3 hours "feet time" for pregnant women.
I had TERRIBLE morning sickness for 3 months, and my husband had a good job.. so I just stayed home (ahhh it was nice). Now I am at week 33 (34 on sunday) and about two months ago, my husband lost his job. He got hired back on at (ironically) the casino I had quit (we met there to begin with) but he made considerably less money than the job he was fired from. Therefore, it was back to work for me.
I work in a 1-800 call center (Colgate-Palmolive.. like the toothpaste.. and dishsoap.. and Softsoap, for that matter). I answer the questions of the people that call the number on the back of their product.
I've worked there for about a month and a half now. Amazingly, despite being in the beginning of my 7th month when I started, I was still not showing.. so they hired me. Now I'm definitely showing and the cat is out of the bag.. I'm not sure what will happen. It really conflicts with doctor's appointments. BUT I love the people I work with, I have my own lil cubicle, it's an 8-4 job with weekends off and GREAT holiday pay.. and benefits.. I don't wanna lose it. heh. I hope they'll keep me when I go for maternity leave. I wouldn't mind continuing after Libby is born.
I'm in the midst of going to school full time, as well.. and right now juggling it all isn't TOO bad, but I think with a baby it will be crazy. Therefore I might end up having to quit work.. so who knows.
Kudos to you.. I think it would be very difficult to be around kids all day and on your feet while going through morning sickness. You're stronger than I am!
