I am getting concerned with my DD Pediatric Orthepediest Physician....hope i spelled all that correctly...

I went to hip-baby.org and joined a discussion group for parents of children with DDH and this is what I have been reading. THis is just one post but all of them seem to be thinking and writing the same thing...

I would definitely seek a second opinion. My understanding is that the
preferred first line treatment for children less than 6 months of age is the
Pavlik harnass. Only if the harnass does not work, do children that young
move on to braces or surgery. Under 6 months of age, ultrasound examination
is preferred over x-rays because the hip joint is more cartilage than bone
at that young age. I am assuming your daughter is less than 6 months based
on what I am reading in your email. If you are uncomfortable seeking a
second opinion at the same hospital, perhaps you could apply to your nearest
Shriners Hospital for care. I don't know much about them, but there are
several parents on this board who receive treatment through the Shriners.
They can also be found on the web.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

My Mom is getting a number to a Shriners Hospital right now, so I plan on calling and getting an appointment for a second opinion.

What would you guys do?
