We live in a newer home with walls with a fairly rough finish (not perfectly smooth) and I've always had a heck of a time getting clean lines along corners and the ceiling when I paint. I was watching Color Splash on HGTV (love that show!) and they said in order to get clean, crisp lines, to brush a thin layer of clear gloss over the painters tape. Once it drys, paint as usual. I guess it creates a clear seal under the tape where the paint can't bleed through.

Has anyone tried this? How have you gotten clean lines?
