Sleep!!

My baby had been sleeping 10-11 hrs with just one feeding. Last night she slept 11 hrs and never woke up for her feeding. she is 3.5 months. I was excited for the sleep, but should I be worried?

I have no idea, but wow, that's crazy! I was thrilled with Ingrid sleeping 6.5 hours (8:30 PM to almost 3 AM) after doing a breastfeeding at 7ish and 2.5 oz pumped milk from a bottle at 8 PM! I got 4 hours in a row- it was amazing.

I'm not sure if you should be worried. You should ask your Pedi! It does sound like a LOT of time sleeping. 11 hours is a huge chunk of time. I would just ask her doctor.

Darion just hit 3 months and sleeps for about 7 hours on his first stretch at night but that's on about 4-6 ounces of breast milk. Then he does 3-4 hour stretches during the day on that same amount. He also stays up a lot longer in between now.

she is awake from about 11 am on with maybe a 30 minute nap here or there. she eats at least every 3 hrs during the day.

after having 3 kids...no I wouldn't be worried! I feed my babies as often as they'd like during the day and wind up getting a long period over night...working on that this time around, but with my other 3 I got 12 hours!

WOW that is a lot of sleep!

Tessa usually does a 5 hour stretch at first (10-3ish) and then she's up at 6:30 and then up at 9 for the day ... and she only takes mini catnaps during the day. I swear, my kid does not need to sleep lol

As long as growth is occurring, and there are enough wet diapers, I wouldn't worry...just enjoy! Don't be surprised if there's a regression in sleep around 4 months, though...it's normal. But yay for sleep!

Nice!

I'm excited for anything more than 3 hours at a time! We went camping last weekend and all the fresh air konked him out for 6 hour stretches at night, it was amazing.

Enjoy the rest!

Re: Sleep!!

My daughter is pretty similar. She's been sleeping about 8 hours each night since she was 5 - 6 weeks old. She wakes up after 8 hrs, eats for about 15 minutes and then goes back to sleep for 2 - 3 hours. Sometimes she eats for another 15 minutes and then goes back to sleep again. So, she can be asleep for more than 12 hours with just 2 short feeding sessions in the morning. However, she's basically stopped napping, so she'll be wide awake from noon until 10 or 11 at night with only a few 10 - 15 minute naps some days, which gets exhausting. I haven't really done anything to get her on a schedule, so that's what I have to figure out now.

But, yes, I think it's great that your daughter is sleeping that long. Enjoy it!

It's nothing to worry about and you should count yourself as one of the lucky ones! As long as she is getting enough feeds during the day and you can see she is growing, you are fine. Some babies can happily sleep through early on, but for others it just takes longer. I would agree with ThaiSpice though, in that you may get some sleep regression around 4 months as her sleeping pattern changes.
