ttc with blood thinners
I am 29 years old. I suffered an extensive blood clot in August. I have been on blood thinners since then. My blood test in December showed the first positive for anti phospholipid syndrome. I've suffered miscarriages in the past and my family has numerous immune problems. I find out in 1 week if I am still positive for anti phospholipid syndrome. I got married in October. Dh and I are ready to ttc. I've been told regardless of my test results that I will be on injection blood thinners throughout pregnancy. I am not looking forward to that but I will do anything for a family.
Any advice out there?
Re: ttc with blood thinners
Well, the second test came back positive, so APS it is. Since DH and I will be TTC soon, the doctor switched me to Lovenox injections twice a day. I hate needles. I figure it might make a good story for my kids someday: "Mommy wanted you so much she had to give herself shots twice a day to make sure she could stay healthy to have a healthy baby." At least that is what I am telling myself. There are moments of "bummer, I wish this wouldn't be so hard" and other moments of "I can get through this."
