Just started dd on rice cereal and then green peas, about a week ago. Rice cereal for about 4 days and then moved onto sweat peas a couple times a day along with rice cereal and breast milk as well. She has been sooo different since. She's easily irritated and cries more than usual. Anyone else's baby have this reaction? Her pediatrician's nurse advised us to just feed dd sweat peas once a day and rice cereal once a day and continue with the breast milk. She said that dd just may need to get used to solids. AAAhhhh... I feel so discouraged! I hate to see my dd so moody and sad. Please, let me know if you experienced this so I don't looose my mind!

Thanks

How old is your baby? We started on just rice cereal around 5 months and I kept her on just that for about 2 weeks or more just so she can get used to it. Maybe you can back off the peas and stick to the rice cereal in small amounts to get her tummy used to it. It's a big change for their systems and maybe her tummy is just not feeling good or having a harder time processing it. Or maybe back off of it completely for a week and try again. I had to do that once too because I just didn't think she was ready.

Some people suggest that such a reaction is a sign of a food senstivity. I would take the food that seemed to bother her away, and wait to let her try again in a few weeks/month.
