Alternative Spellings

for Ephraim??

i know there is Ephram, Efram.. any others?

being the i in Ephraim is silent.. do u think Ephreim could as well work?? i mean its okay to not like the look of it.. lol but im wondering in general, if that spelling would work

ai to me is kinda feminine.. but i like the e more

Honestly, I think all the alternative spellings just look mispelled. I prefer the original spelling. I really dislike it when people take names that are 2000 years old and try and modernize them somehow - spelling / pronunciation, etc. Technically, it's pronounced Ee-fray-im, so the e instead of an a would work, but the i isn't silent. ;) Though most pronounce it Ee-frim, Ee-frum, ***-rim, or ***-rum.

Just my opinion, of course - spell it however you'd like. ;)

i like the ph in it.. im not a fan of F's.. like im not a fan of ai, its femie looking to me..

i dont mind at all respelling a name thats 2000 years old if it is lol, or changing its pronounciation

i fit the spelling to what I like... names are not set in stone IMO lol

I think I like Ephram or Ephrem best... probably create less pronounciation confusion!

If you are pronouncing it with 2 syllables then I prefer Ephram. The Ephreim spelling looks odd to me.
