has your child/ren changed the way you think of their name?

LOL that title sounds really confusing...

Basically, a lot of people have mentioned to me that Gabrielle is a really girly, feminine name - and prior to having met my Gabrielle, I'd have agreed... But NOW, because of MY Gabrielle, and her personality, I don't think of it as an ultra girly, feminine name - because she is such a little rough & tumble, crazy, outrageous kids... I don't view HER as being girly & feminine, so I don't view the name as girly & feminine...

anyone else have a similar experience?

Yes, I used to hate initial nicknames, but now I love hers. She is definitely an AJ.

But other than that, no. She is Audrey 100%, exactly the way I think of it. Cute, spunky, spontaneous, dramatic, etc.

I totally get where you're coming from Emma. I feel the same way about some of my neices/nephews. Once I associate someone with a particular name, it's hard to view it on a different type of personality.

Now that Blaise is getting older and more of a personality, my view hasn't changed at all....in fact, he is even more of a Blaise than before. To me, Blaise sounds energetic, quirky yet it can have a serious side (because I also associate it with the mathmatician)....my son is definately a Blaise.

i don't know any other Cohen's... so it's hard for me to put a stereotype to his name.

Only in the sense that I didn't love the name Lauren until it was Lauren's. It's not something I would have considered using normally.

I don't really think Luke's name fits him. Sometimes I wish I'd given him a "funner" name.

about the two I currently have not at all.. with this third if it ends up being a boy and we use the name we are thinking of, I think I might have regrets... ther isn't just one name I love.. I am not sure if it would suit him if it is a him lol
