Ariana for the "ar-EE-ahna" pronunciation

Arianna for the "air-EE-anna" pronunciation

I prefer Ariana.

Re: Arianna/Ariana/Ariyana

For me:

Ariana is said "ar-ee-AH-nuh"

Arianna is said "ar-ee-ANN-nuh"

I prefer Ariana of the two, but I am in love with the name Ariadne. :p

I like the nickname Aria, but Ari a close second. I prefer the full name to any of the nick names though.

I dislike this name because no matter how it is spelled people pronounce it differently - the first AND third syllable.
ar-EE-ahna
ar-EE-anna
air-EE-ahna
air-EE-anna

I've seen SO many Arianna's and Brianna's who get offended when you pronounce their name with an -anna on the end, preferring the -ahna pronunciation. Well, their name is spelled wrong for the pronunciation they want!

I agree! My friend has 2 nieces - Ariana & Briana & I've gotten my hand slapped for mispronouncing both of their names at 1 time or another. And she had some rules that I had no idea of.

Re: Arianna/Ariana/Ariyana

I like Ariana the best, pronounced either AR-ee-ahn-a or AIR-ee-ah-na. Arianna (same, but with 'ann' instead of 'ahn') is also nice.

I don't care much for the "alternate" spellings like Ariyanna, they seem like they could be confusing!
