What do you think of the name Luna? I like it!

beckii July 3rd, 2007 07:02 PM

I don't care for it-- for some reason, I think of a black cat.. ?

4boys July 3rd, 2007 07:38 PM

I think it's a lovely name, although I don't think I would use it myself, it's a little too different for me to use in real life. But I love the way it sounds.

Miracle July 3rd, 2007 07:39 PM

I think of the moon. I don't like it very much.

I'm not a fan of it. There is a character in the Harry Potter books named Luna and the kids tease her by calling her Loony.

I also associate it with the character from the Harry Potter books and while I love the character (she's one of my favourites) I can't see a child or an adult with the name

I quite like it but wouldnt use it, when she was at school she would probably get called Luna - tic

Resi July 4th, 2007 05:57 AM

I didn't know it was a name in Harry Potter. I also did not think of the luna-tic and loony.. I don't think I would use it but I like it. I have known a girl around my age with the name and it fit her well.

Luna Tuna.

I agree there are many negative nicknames that could be given for Luna. At the same time, a class of 30 creative 5th graders will come up with a negative nn for anything.

That said, Luna is not my style personally. I think it would work best on a young woman of Hispanic/Latino descent. It feels very exotic to me.

Finally, in the Chicago area you might remember the Luna Carpet commercials? "seven seven three, two oh two.... Luuuunaaaa." It has a very catchy jingle to it. That is the first thing I thought of when I heard the name.

Luckystar83 July 6th, 2007 05:36 AM

I really like it, it is quite popular over here in the UK.

BlessedMomOf2BeautifulGirls July 6th, 2007 12:34 PM
