Dropping signs

Jonah is starting to drop signs. The thing is, he isn't talking yet! I've never heard of a toddler dropping signs before he/she could talk. Maybe I am not enforcing certain signs as well as I used to?

Thoughts or experiences on this??

Hmm, I'm not sure. Has Jonah started pointing at things or doing something else to communicate that could be taking the place of signing? Or maybe he's working on a new skill (you remember how babies sometimes stop doing one skill when they're working hard on another)?

Re: Dropping signs

He points really randomly, not really to mean something. He's dropped all signs that don't have to do with immediate needs. He only signs "eat" "milk" and "potty" now. Not even when I ask him to do the sign, or if I remind him of it. He just stares blankly at me :(
