Please be sure that you DO NOT HOTLINK when picking up your blinkie. Hotlinking is essentially stealing someone else’s bandwidth by inserting their IMG code into your siggie. Most websites restrict the amount of bandwidth used per month, so using someone else’s code uses up their bandwidth. This could be a serious inconvenience for your blinkie makers that create and upload dozens of blinkies each month; it could also result in the loss of your blinkie if she deletes it from her account.
To save your blinkie properly, please right click on it and select “save as”. Put it somewhere that you won’t lose it, and be sure that it saves in a .gif format. Then visit an image hosting site (such as Photobucket) – you’ll have to register if you don’t have an account already. Once you’re signed in, you’ll see an option to “upload photos”. Use the “browse” button to find your blinkie on your computer, and you’re ready to upload.
Photobucket (and many other photo hosting sites) will give you a code beginning with [ IMG] that you can insert directly into your siggie. If you are only given a URL (beginning with http:// ), simply copy and paste the URL into your siggie; then add [ IMG] in front of the URL and [ /IMG] behind.
If you need more help, please don’t hesitate to ask one of your Blinkies R Us co-hosts, or even the artist who made the blinkie for you. Any of us would be happy to help!
Thank you for your cooperation, and enjoy your blinkies!
