Amish Drop Sugar Cookies
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup margarine
1 cup buttermilk or sour cream*
3 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Cream sugar and margarine. Add eggs and beat well.
2. Add milk, dry ingredients and vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
3. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
Can sprinkle with sugar before baking.
*You can use either buttermilk or sour cream but I've always thought
the sour cream gave you a more tender cookie.
