Wwyd?

I've gotten two positive preg tests. I still don't believe them, but if I am I need to be on aspirin and prometrium(progesterone supplement). Idk if the prometrium is ok while bfing, but I know aspirin is not.

I do not want to wean her, she'd be miserable. But in order to keep a pregnancy to term, I need those medications. Would you wean or cross your fingers and hope for the best?

I would contact Dr Jack Newman's breastfeeding clinic and ask them about the medications. They have more up to date information. I know women who have done fertility treatments while still nursing, so you would be surprised at what is really safe and what is not. Our local La Leche also had an up to date list of what was safe as well.

Congrats on your BFPs!! I agree, contact Jack Newman's clinic and gather information. If it turns out that your meds are not safe for BFing, *if it were me* I would wean. To me, the risk of losing a baby (consider the long-term consequences of grief, etc) outweighs the downsides of weaning. This, to me, is one of those instances that formula was created for - BFing is not actually possible/safe in a given situation. Or you could look into donated breast milk.

Congratulations on the pregnancy!! Ditto to Jack Newman. I'm sure it's a tough decision-I hope there is an easy solution. Please keep us posted!!
