Infant Seat - Help please!
I have an Evenflo Triumph 65 DLX for DS. Based on how much I liked that seat, I requested the Evenflo Serenade from my mom for my second baby and we found it for just $70.
I LOVE the Evenflo Serenade. I mean love it. The Surelatch is amazing, the handle was so comfortable, the sunshade could be used to completely shade baby (Jake was so picky about that), the harness was so easy to adjust.
But it just doesn't fit in my car. The front seat is unusable when the carseat is properly installed (with the handle down and 1 1/2 inch clearance between the carseat and front seat). I called crying (pregnancy hormones) to my wonderful mom and she said don't worry, we will get you one that has everything you need. It doesn't matter what it costs. Now, I won't be buying a $200 seat, but I think I could get away with about $150 without feeling like I'm completely taking advantage of her.
Suggestions on anything that might have some of the features I liked from the Serenade, but not the handle down and clearance requirement? And is BRU the best place to go to try before you buy?
Note: I have a 2005 Mazda 6 and will have DS's Triumph front facing in the back too, there is latch on both sides but not in the middle.
Re: Infant Seat - Help please!
The Chicco Keyfit 30 is well loved and really easy to install. Evenflo is the only brand that makes the SureLATCH, so perhaps after your little one is out of the infant seat, you can get an Evenflo convertible car seat that has SureLATCH since you love that feature so much.
My top list of infant seats include (in no particular order):
Chicco Keyfit 30
Graco SnugRide 35
Safety 1st onBoard35 Air
