Oh brother, here we go again

I love it when people give me advice..like seriously I do. I love hearing how they got their kids to sleep through the night, what helped nausea etc.

But I HATE being told what to do.

A family member just messaged me on facebook about my status of how gross the Mickey D's fish sandwich was and said how I shouldn't be eating any fish at all while I'm pregnant unless it's organic.

ESP tuna, salmon or sardines.

again

Because that's EXACTLY what my Doc advised me to eat when I do eat fish.

:smackshead:

Some people's kids!

Idiots. My doc actually asked me if I am eating *enough* fish (for the DHA in it and stuff), and said I should eat more of it. :P

I hate unsolicited advice. I eventually get so sick of it I unknowingly give death glares at people giving unwanted and incorrect advice.

I love the glares I get when I walk around with a small cup of Starbucks. It's like, are you my midwife? Do you know how much caffeine I have ingested today/this week/etc?

The advice never ends!

I have a friend that does this. I've had to start avoiding her, before I was pregnant she was offering me diet advice and weighs significantly more than me. I took it with stride but since I've gotten pg her unsolicited advice irks the heck out of me. It's always the most basic of basic advice, and she says it like she's offering some secret cure or something insightful. It's rather annoying.

People are *****. I love dirty looks over coffee and sushi.

A fish sandwich from the MACDonald's sound soooo good about now....

OMG I've eaten sooooooooooooooo much junk lately. Whatever.

I don't get advice like this really at all. I wonder why.

Re: Oh brother, here we go again

Guess what people...I don't care what you think about what I'm ingesting. I don't worry about what you're ingesting and I'll bet it's 10 times worse than my food and drinks. Jerks.

Most of my friends know me well enough to know I don't want their input, but a few strangers have given me their input and I sometimes can't help but say terrible things like "I'm sorry, the moment I think someone is about to give me unsolicited advice, I zone out and start thinking about something dumb like entertainment news. Did you know (insert random entertainment news tidbit)?" Usually by that time, they've labeled me as rude and I'm free to walk away afterward.

The litter box thing and the cat thing is my BIGGEST peeve. I worked in vet medicine for 10 years! I have THREE INDOOR ONLY CATS. Trust me, I am not getting toxoplasmosis from them (I'd be more concerned about the dogs bringing it in! Not that we have cats in the yard!) , and my cats are not going to suffocate the baby, nor will they jump in his crib while he is sleeping. I can't tell you how many people tell me to just get rid of my cats because I have a baby. I have TONS of photos of my cats GUARDING the baby.

Exactly. We have two inside dogs and an outside cat and I've had so many people tell me we should just get rid of the animals. People are so hyper about this stuff. I really dont get it, esp when I've seen kids that have been born and are fine after the mom uses crack, meth etc yet people freak out if I eat a fish sandwich or for once I'd like lunch meat that isn't boiling hot! lol

My sister had toxoplasmosis with her second kiddo. It was super, super scary; but she is fine and my niece is and always has been perfect. I have four indoor cats and a dog...no plans on changing anything here. It's just like anything else, everything you carries a risk. Even walking down the stairs. It's called life.

I drive a car everyday and wear a seatbelt. Theres a huge risk there! LOL

I love when people decide to give me a list of food I "shouldn't" eat... If I didn't eat all that food I'd be STARVING!

ugh, i know excatly what you ladies mean!

I was told that my 3 cats will think of my baby as a new cat and then will stand over it and suck the life out of it.............................. so thats why pregnant ladies shouldnt own cats.

and I was told my big shepard mix will snap at my baby, or attack it when it pulls on her ears and tail. So I was like, ok so thats why when my friends 10 month old came over, she pulled on her ears, tail and fur hard but my dog sat there contently?
and there response was "that was a one time thing, she'll eventually get sick of it"
RAWR!

Also, the coffee thing drives me nuts.. I keep getting told my kid will have adhd or be a preemie.

I actually perodically crave fish during this pregnancy, but I keep that hush hush to avoid more annoying advice. *yes I do still eat fish.*

its like we are Porcelain glass dolls that will break, if we do anything thats out of the "norm"

Because cats routinely suck the life out of each other???? Sometimes what people believe makes NO sense whatsoever!

Oh yes you have to watch out for the evil dementor Fluffy..he will suck out your sooouuuulllll :giggle:

So I did something I haven't done in four months of pregnancy....I went to Subway.

Let me tell you, that was the best friggin ham and turkey with cheese, lettuce tomato, mayo and dijon on italian with bbq chips and pickles that I have EVER had in my life. I'm pretty sure I had a orgasm lol. Who would have thought deli meat could be so amazing. I did have em nuke it in the microwave for a few seconds..but not steaming. I know..I'm a bad mother :giggle:

Here was my son learning to walk about a month before his 1st birthday. My dog was ACTING AS HIS PILLOW if he fell back. Yeah looks vicious doesn't he?

Grrrr! Face of a killer! LOL

Oh and subway sandwiches.... HEAVEN. I will only use the subways though that have the plastic cover for their foods -- not all have them but the one by my work does. This way I know a) Its the right temp and b) no bugs are getting to it.

I wish someone would give me a rude glare! I've gone walking around with starbucks, eaten sushi, ordered deli meat, had subway COLD. Pah! I just want the chance to smile back at them :)
