How have your tastes changed over time?

As I've been shopping around for kits more and more I've started to notice that different stores seem to have different styles. For example, A5D, Shabby Pickle, and Digital Crea all seem to have more of an emphasis on realistic elements and fantasy/scene style stuff, whereas Sweet Shoppe and Scrap Orchard are more traditional. And The Lily Pad, One Story Down, etc. are more eclectic/funky.

It used to be that almost the only stores I ever bought from were Digital Crea and A5D. I was big into the realistic/scene style kits. Now, I'm finding that I like the traditional stuff more and more, and I'm mostly shopping from Scrap Orchard. I never used to get excited by papers, but now I do!

Has anyone else found that their tastes changed over the years?

Yes absolutely. I think a lot of it came from making signatures though. I had all these kits and I tried to use them in digi scrapbooking, but not the same success. I still use kits from digital-crea, but I find it hard to use the kits I have from A5D on my LO's. I think sometimes it's hard to find your style too because kits can be somewhat pricey and it's not as easy to just go ahead and try out different designers. I find that being on someones CT for a short time works well as for trying out new designers.

I definitly use more papers now and prefer elements to be mostly of "paper-ish" feel to them.

In my scrapping, I've always been kind of drawn to the same kind of kit - now I am just much pickier about what I'll actually download. I shop the most from Sweet Shoppe Designs but really anything in that traditional paper style I love - and I'm a kit scrapper so the stores with the more eclectic feel with more random element packs & unusual kits are out of my comfort zone, but I do still indulge from time to time. :)

Hmm... I actually started siggy making with paper scrap type kits, then evolved to using the more realistic type. :P And my pages have shown that. Now I'm at a happy mix. I like to use more paper scrap type kits, BUT I also like everything to be realistic, I don't want to use anything that looks like it was made on a computer.
As for actual page building... I think the only consistent I've had over the past almost 5 years is that I layer, a lot, and that I like to use paint.
