*steps in slowly*

My name is Jennifer and I am the mom to three beautiful children.

I have been married since 2003 and been with my husband since 1999 - but yeah - I haven't been happy for many years and it is just not right to keep myself into a situation any longer.

I feel awful cause he is currently deployed and gone for another 6 months and I am realizing more and more with him gone that I am better off this way.

looking for some people to talk to about this - all new to me and scared - but finally feeling strong enough to do this.

Welcome!
Finding the courage and actually following through is the hardest part or it was for me. I was unhappy for years as well. You should not feel awful if you are not happy and not in love you can not force yourself to love anyone espcially based on certain circumstances making you feel guilty. Have you thought about seeing a lawyer? Do you think your husband will give you any trouble of custody of the kids or anything like that? I wish you all the best and if you ever need to talk im here! Just stay strong :)

Welcome my dear.

I hope things are going well for you, and good for you for coming to this decision! It was extremely difficult for myself as well.

Be sure to keep as updated on how things are going

I have been divorced for 2 yrs. When we finally decided it was over it was a relief for me anyway. We were married for almost 12 yrs. I tried for a long time but he just didn't put the effort in. When he deployed I didn't really miss him and the kids were happier since there was less stress on me. I stayed longer because I didn't know how it would affect the kids. One day my daughter who was 10 at the time said Mom you deserve to be happy and it isn't with dad. Then I knew they would be okay if we separated.
