OT: Bronchitis vs Pnuemonia

Sorry, this is off topic. I have had a yucky cold for about 3 weeks. The last couple days I have started to get a yucky cough, pain in my chest (Feels like I have a brick sitting on it), and its hard to clear the gunk out of my throat.

I was just wondering how you tell the difference between bronchitis or possible pnuemonia? Since most cold medicines are a no-no in pregnancy, I don't know whether I need to go and be seen to get something safe or wait it out?

Have you had pnuemonia? What did it feel like?

The only way to know for sure is to have a doctor listen to you breathe and usually they would do an xray. My mom has had pneumonia a few times and she was just wiped out, no energy whatsoever. It's not anything to mess with- i would get checked out. :) feel better soon!!

Hmm maybe I will just go in. I don't really want an x-ray though! I am super tired, but its hard to tell if that is just because I am pregnant. Boo. Not how I want to spend my friday evening! Thanks for the well wishes :)

I think if you're to the point you're asking you should go get checked out. I don't think they'd do an xray on a pregnant woman unless absolutely necessary. Good luck!

^I agree about the xray, that is just how they diagnosed my mom's. They'll hear it in your chest if you have it!

Hope it's not pneumonia and that you feel better soon!
