well i'm only 18 (19 in august) and i found out about a week ago i was pregnant. my boyfriends family is suportive but my grandmother ho brought me up since i was a baby is pretty angry but she is dealing with it in her own way but she isn't telling the family about it for a while cause she is embarrassed.
i live in PA with my boyfriend and she lives in South Carolina. i say its the worst time for me to get pregnant because i haven't had time to schedule an appointment with an OB yet but im leaving tomorrow for SC to visit my grandmother for about a month. im worried that this isn't safe for me but my grandmother assures me i will be fine and to shedule the appointment with my doctor for august when i get back. the ofice was cllosed when i caled today because i fell asleep midday (was tired and sick feeling) and when i woke it was 5pm. so by the time i call the doctor iwil already be in SC and i can't get a doctor because idon't have medical insurance for South Carolina i have medicaid for where i am.
i mean i have ulcerative colitis but i dint think that puts me in a high risk category so going away and getting away for a while shouldn't be a bad thing right? because i really want to visit her especially with all her health problems i realy want to see her.
i'm just cared because this was so unexpected and happened at a bad time but i'm still happy that i will be a mom
Many doctors do not have you have your first appointment until you are about 10 weeks or so. So my guess is you should be okay. I would try and call the doctor again tomorrow and see what they say. It seems that although this is not something that was expected or planned that the families are taking it pretty well. Congrats and welcome to unplanned pregnancy. Feel free to PM me if you need anything.
