I can't not even begin to describe my frustration and disappointment in my failed vacation plans for this weekend!
While for the past 5-6 months I have been working 55-60 hours a week with my store, my husband about the same and his job, we decided to take a few days this week and go to Chicago to a Party and Halloween buyers show. We go every year with another couple and have a BLAST every single time.
We have had this planned out, got the hotel, rental car, and could already taste the chicago pizza! My dh and I have literally been giddy over thinking all the fun we'll have and the laughs we'll have with our friends this weekend.
Then...my friend's mom decides that she doesn't know if she wants to keep her granddaughter for the weekend. She has created a monster out of the 2.5 yo by letting her ONLY sleep in her arms when she watches her. Now the granddaughter won't sleep anywhere else at Grandma's house but in her arms. I suggested ideas of a toddler bed, her own sleeping bag, a special blanket, but the grandma is being a pain. My friend now is thinking she has to stay home because her mom is saying she won't be able to sleep all weekend if she has to hold the toddler ALL NIGHT long. She doesn't have anyone else she trusts to watch her daughter. So, one of the couple is not coming.
Last night my mother in law called and now is believing she isn't coming to watch our son and dogs for 3 days. Where she lives in MI they are predicting snow, snow...and more snow. She saying it doesn't look good for her to come down.
I called my friend to ask if her husband was still coming because of the weather (they are coming from MI too) and she said she wasn't sure, they hadn't been watching the weather.
It doesn't look good.
It's the ONE CHANCE I get away from the house, life here and just take a break, even though it's still "work"...it's fun because we get to shop for inventory for the store!
Yet, another disappoinment and I"m starting to wonder what the heck?!?!
When are we going to get a break!?!?
