Hey, Everyone. Well the past couple of days I've been feeling very strange. I've had very severe headache and backaches, and I've also felt very off balance. I'm planning on going to the doctor tomorrow, and I was wondering what kind of tests are safe to have when you are pregnant. I'm just wondering b/c I'm concerned that if I have to have a catscan they won't do it b/c I'm pregnant. Please give me any advice you may have from previous experience. Thanks!!
I don't actually know what tests are safe or not...I do know they like to avoid scans and whatnot, but I'm sure if you absolutely needed it, they'd do it. I could be wrong though...Either way, I hope you feel better soon! It may just be a bit of a head cold, or the flu. There were times where I felt that way (like headache for days, very dizzy, couldn't keep my balance well, ect..) but it ended up passing. Get some rest and take it easy...You can take tylenol (not sure if you were aware of that). If the headache won't go away, you could also take it a step further and take Tylenol extra strenght and you can even pop into your pharmacy and ask for some Tylenol 1 (it has a bit of codene in it) and its safe to take. Those should at least help you sleep and maybe that's all you need.
Talk about scary? I have had a lump on the back of my head, near the base of my skull since December and I couldn't get a CT Scan! The radiologist absolutly refused to do it! I ended up getting Xrays and an Ultrasound on it, and both came back negative, but I still won't be completely at ease until I get the CT. I have to wait until the baby is born...
Good luck, maybe you are just having major pregnancy symptons..My friend had AWFUL headaches through her whole pregnancy.
