Doesn't it just figure? I'm patient (moderately anyway... I only tested twice during my 2ww)... and here it is. The day I'm expecting my period.

So I wake up this morning... and nothing. So after I coax myself out of bed... I make my way to the bathroom and take a urine test.

I am determined not to look at it until 3 minutes are up.

I fail miserably.

So I peek and see the very very obivious "NEGATIVE" line. It is bright red/pink. So, I go about doing my thing and get ready to toss the test.

And then I notice the BAREST shadow of another line. I mean, I tried to take a picture of it.. and it's not even really showing up. I mean, I'm even thinking that maybe I overreacted at this point and made myself see something.

AGH!

I figure I can go get one of those digital tests... but... the one I used is EXTRA sensitive... detecting 20mIU. So I figure if I get one from the store... wont it just come back negative b/c it's not as sensitive? I mean, I'm assuming that's why the color is SO light...

HELP!!

The tests are only accurate during the specified time frame. An evaporation line can come up after the test has been sitting for awhile. I'd wait a few more days and test again if AF doesn't show up.

i agree you should test again in a couple of days if af doesnt come..i took my first test when i was around almost 3 months pregnant and the lines werent as dark so i got a digital one since its easier to read and you no that your eyes wont play games because its either "pregnant" or "not pregnant" so if it doesnt come in a couple of days and u retest maybe you should get a digital one

my first test showed 1 line, but a few hours later, there was a very faint 2nd line. the instructions said that a positive test will show positive fo 48 hours.

of course i took another test a few days later - and it was positive! and here i am at 11 weeks

good luck!!

Well... I was looking at the results within the specified time frame... The 2nd faint line showed at about 3 minutes. It was a cup test, so I removed it from the cup for a better look and all... but still... I wasn't looking at it for longer than a minute or so...

By the time I had tossed everything and went to post this message... only about 6 or 7 minutes had passed... so I dont think it was an evaporation line...

But yeah, I think I'm gonna get a digital test...

Can anyone recommend one that is sensitive?

Thanks.

The first test I took was 3 days after my missed period. It was the one that had a positive or negative, mine was a lot like yours, one really dark line and one faint one..... So I went and got two more tests, that just used one line or two lines. They were both very much positive. So I'd get one of those, that way if any of the second line shows up at all, you'll know it's positive. I also took a digital, but at that point I already knew..... goodluck

I think the test I used was first response and it is supposed to be able to detect about 4 days prior to AF's arrival....

I also had a "very" faint second line on my first testing. I wasn't sure what to think, so I went up to the doctor's office to have it confirmed that I was actually pregnant.....

If in the right timeframe, a faint lines just means that the pregnancy is very new...
