So I've noticed that I've become OBSESSED with job security. Up to tonight I was working two jobs to put aside money, but since I've been pregnant, I'm exhausted and it's causing my day (main) job to fall behind. So I quit my 2nd job, and I've got a really good job as my main job. I'm in a great position as far as finances go, to have a baby.
But now I'm like... FREAKING out that I'm going to lose my job. I guess it's because now it's more than me that is dependent on it... there is a baby to. My fiance doesn't make much at all... so he's looking for a new job. But my job is the one that pays the bills... so if I were to lose mine, we'd be screwed
It's wierd for me to stress... I mean, this week aside, I think my work performance has been pretty good... I got a review in February that said I was "performing to standards" and got a good pay increase. And my boss has only been more impressed with me since then.
Has this happened to anyone else? I know I'm being a whiner I"m sorry
A lot of your worry is probably just a psychological thing. Like you said, you realize that it's not only your life that you have to provide for, but your baby's too. I know how stressful it can be. My fiance makes a fairly good salary, and the cost of living in the city we just moved to is a lot higher. We weren't even able to pay all of our bills! I finally found a job, and I'm probably going to have the same fears that you will. But just relax and try not to worry yourself about it. You'll probably perform a lot better that way. Good luck!!!!
I mean, I'd be worried if I had a little one dependent on me.
BUT you need to get a hold of yourself!!! Your job isn't going anywhere if you keep working hard like you always do!
If anything (like your boss says something) just say, you were going through a hard time or something.
Since you're a good worker I'm sure they'll be understanding.
Everything will work out, so don't freak.
Just have faith I know, it's easier said than done, but keep in mind that stress is not good when you're pregnant
