I haven't told my parents yet but I think the best way is to exude confidence and happiness. If you're stressed and upset, your mother will be too, I think. Moods are catching, you know?

i had my older sister come over and i told my mom i had to talk to her.. it went really well. i don't think i would have been able to do it alone. i didn't pretend to be happy.. i was terrified and broke down in tears but my mom comforted me and told me everything was going to be ok.

good luck!

Honesty is always best-

My mom can ALWAYS tell if I am lying to her- or holding back-

Just letting you know that you have a troll ladies. She posted on the NCB board that she had already told her mom and wanted a natural birth but was scared BEFORE she posted that she would try to tell her mom in a happy way.

I think it should be carefully said if you come from a family that is more down to earth and conservative... Just go for a ride in the car and tell your mom that you love her very much and that you need her help and go from there...Or if you come from a very open family like I did...You could always do what my husband and I did...Get a grandmother card leave a message inside of there saying how does it feel to be a grandparent?
