A girl I was with 8 weeks 2 days ago gave me a call saying she was 7 weeks 3 days pregnant. She was dated by ultrasound sense she did not remember when her LMP started. Is there a good chance the baby is mine? She told me she started seeing someone and was with someone at most a week later after me.
It is a possibility because sperm can live inside of a woman for up to 3 days and I have also read that they can live inside of a woman for as long as 5 days. It would also depend on what day that she ovulated. It also takes up to 8 days for a fertilized egg to make its way down into the womb to implant itself, so yes it is definately a possibility....... GOOD LUCK.
I would say there is a chance that it could be yours. But there is a chance that it couldn't. Only a week difference in the dates is really hard to give a definite answer. U/S measurements are hard to be 100 percent sure on as well.
I'm not 100 percent sure on this, but i think you can get a paternity test while she is still pregnant. I think that would definitely be something you should consider..
I think they really just measure the size of the baby and determine on averages when she had her period.. LMP could be different but since the average is 14 days, they added 14 days to the probable time she ovulated/implanted. Her LMP could have been a few days earlier or later.
