Hi there, my friend has only just found out she is pregnant, at 6months. She was drinking, smoking ciggarettes and had taken ecstacy about four times during her pregnancy she estimates.. is there a big risk to her baby? the scans show that the baby is fine, developed normally and the right weight etc for how far along she is. she is really worried

I'm sure there are risks....but I don't know. She should really talk to her doctor about it...and be completely open and honest about everything she did.

I have a friend in my Aug '07 birth board that didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 28 weeks. She had no clue! She was also drinking and smoking...but no drug use. Her son is completely healthy!

If there are any risks, the doctor should be able to tell you about them and maybe even do extra tests that might be needed.
