Miranda Lei is here!!! Well I went up to L&D Friday at around 5 and got sent home around 9. Well that night I tried sleeping through the contractions but couldn't do it so Randy and I went back up to L&D at around 2:30a.m. So my cervix had softened a great amount from earlier that evening so they went ahead and admitted me. So I basically sat in my delivery room and fought through the contractions for a few hours. I was finally able to get an epidural when I was dilated 4cm. They were afraid that I wouldn't dilate too fast afterwards but around 1:00pm I was dilated 9cm so they broke my water. Well shortly after they came in and told me to start pushing with my contractions. So I pushed for around 1 1/2 hours and they realized she was having problems getting down the birth canal because she had a brow presentation. So they made me lay on my side for about 30 minutes in hopes that she would turn on her own. Well she hadn't turned so I had to push with the doctor trying to turn her head for a little while longer. Finally they came in and another doctor examined me and told me that she had a brow presentation, that my vaginal canal was too small to deliver her, and I would have to have a c-section. So they got me prepared for that, Randy went and put his doctor scrubs on, and we went to the O.R. Finally at 3:50 p.m. the pulled Miss Miranda into this world!! She weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces, was 19 1/2 inches long, and has brown hair and blue eyes. Her white blood cell count was a little high so she has to stay in NICU on antiobiotics until Thursday so we haven't gotten to take her home yet. Here are some pics from the hospital and I'll post more once we get her home!! For all of you ladies with unplanned pregnancies that are having all kinds of uncertainties and doubts, I just wanted to say that honestly I have never felt so much love for anything or anyone in my entire life.
OMG!!! She is so beautiful!! You look so good too!! Wow! I'm so happy everything is good with the both of you and that Miranda's healthy, and gorgeous to boot!! Fiona can't wait to hear more about her new friend!! She's so tiny compared to my little porker, who was born 8lbs 3 1/2 oz!!! lol
Well hurry up and get home so that we can more pics!
Thanks so much for your replies!! Star, it is sooo hard to get to come home and not get to bring her with us. I seriously think that mom's of babies that are in the NICU for long periods of time are so STRONG. We will find out tomorrow if her culture of an infection comes back negative. If it does then we will for sure get to take her home on Thursday!! Please keep her in y'alls prayers for the time being!! Thanks gals!
