about giving birth? I don't know about the rest of you ladies, but I am pretty scared about having this baby boy. I do not deal well with pain, and I am afraid that somethings going to go wrong, or the pain will be so terrible I won't be able to handle it!!

I'm going to try and go all natural! Am I scared? Heck yeah, but my momma will be there and that's the only thing I need!!! Just my momma! SO will be there too, but I am more happy about my mom being there because when I'm sick, I'm a big baby and I want my mommy!

I was scared with my first also. I didn't know what to expect. But I got the epideral and didn't go through horrible pain. I mean it hurts but at the time you are more worried about seeing your new baby. And afterword, I forgot all about the pain. Not really too scared this time cause I've been through it twice already.

I'm FREAKING OUT about labor. I want to go with just IV drugs, no epidural, and I know that it's going to hurt awful.

You ladies going natural are very brave! I admit that I wouldn't be able to handle it, regardless of who I have there to support me. Now that my time is getting so close, I am getting REALLY freaked, but I can't keep the lil guy in there forever!

I am terrified. I am even scared to get an epidural, because I hear if they mess it up somehow it can kill you and the baby (?????) I know I cant do it without the epidural however, I am not a pain tolerant person. I scares me to think that something that big is going to come out of there!!!

All I can say is that I would be reading up on epidurals for all you girls out there planning on getting them. If I have to have pain meds, I will be getting them through IV, but I plan to go w/o any pain meds, so we'll see.

I know a girl who had an epi and now she gets migranes and it's only been since she got the epidural. Too many risk factors for me, and I'm sorry, but I can't stand the thought of a tube in my spine while I'm pushing something 8 lbs out of a hole the size of a coin! SORRY, I can't picture me going there! I'd rather be in pain then think about that tube/needle in my back! NO WAY.

..Yep, I heard of BAAD stories from the epidural, and it is scary! And the tube thingie freaks me out, too...I just want to be in control somewhat of the pain that I'm about to go through, and if I can get pain meds. through the IV that help the pain enough then I won't get an epidural, I guess it just depends on how bad the labor is going to be

Yep. I have heard baaaddd things too! So, I am DEFINITELY not having one! But, if I do need pain medication, that's okay. I will just get something in the IV to help me out. Even though it's not as "effective" as the epidural, I would feel better doing it that way then in my spine! Sorry, no can do! LOL! But, you'll be fine during labor I'm sure!! Just take deep breaths and push when you're told to do it! LOL!

I'm definitely one of the women who had a pretty bad reaction with the epidural. Ever since I got it I've been in physical therapy for my back. But on the other hand, I know tons and tons of women who swear by epirdural, so i guess its just up to each individual.

Anyways, back to topic....
I was soooo scared of giving birth. Its completely normal to be scared and terrified. However trust me, as soon as you give birth, you will forget about the pain. I thought everyone was crazy when they told me I would forget about all the pain. Now I totally understand how you forget, I can't wait to do it again! The pain of childbirth is the most rewarding pain you will ever have.

I was thinking about it, and maybe IF I can handle the pain, I might just get something in the IV instead of the epidural, because I have heard some pretty scary stories...well we'll see what happens on the BIG DAY!! Hopefully it comes soon

I am scared to death of labor, and all that stuff. I watch discovery health channel and freak out. Plus I am scared to death of needles, so every aspect, IV drugs, Epidurals, and I know dang well I cant handle all natural NOPE NOTTA couldnt & wouldn't do it. So I know I am gonna have to suck it up and I will be glad when my baby gets here, and it will all be worth it but I am still going to scream, cussing, and cry the whole way through labor. It is just a fact of life I am prepared to deal with! At least I admit I am wuss!!

can honestly say folks,
i was ready for every drug going!
throughout my whole pregnancy, i wanted the lot.
but when it came to it - i had an 8hr labour, with no drugs at all!
no one was more suprised than me. but a result of having no drugs meant that i was able to control the rate at which my son came forth into the world - the result - a smooth birth and no stitches!
so dont doubt yourselves ladies! you may find that you can cope with a hell of a lot more than you thought you could.
if i ever do it again, (partner permitting!), i plan on no pain releif. now i know i can do it and survivie!
