Uh, I always went by the rule of thumb, if you're uncomfortable, then the baby will probably be smushed! Your body will tell you if there's something wrong, so if you're most comfy sleeping on your stomach, then I would do it, unless your doc says no way. Maybe check w/ your doc? First you have to tell your rents though! Good luck w/ everything.

this is why sleeping on your side is recommended

The best sleep position during pregnancy is "SOS" (sleep on side). Even better is to sleep on your left side. Sleeping on your left side will increase the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and your baby. Keep your legs and knees bent and a pillow between your legs.

Hey sweetie...I understand the feeling of "can i do this?" I just turned 18 and graduated high school about a month ago and very recently moved in with my boyfriend to go to college in a city nearby. Thankfully I have a close relationship with him and he's a mature guy, but still, the thought of being a mommy so young has been hard on me. Regardless, I am ecstatic about this wonderful opportunity and you should be too. The fact that you're on here getting support is a wonderful thing and I can tell you that doing your research (even about the little things dealing with pregnancy and parenting) can really make you feel established and ready to carry on this responsibility. Most doctors (and mothers) will tell you that sleeping on your side is the best thing for the baby, but if you're like me and like to sleep face down then I've been told that in the first few weeks of pregnancy, it does no harm to sleep on your stomach (as long as you refrain from doing so once your stomach starts bubbling up). Hope this helps you and I hope things go well with telling your parents...
