Um, if that's the case I would reccommend checking into it ALOT before you get married. Most of the time, once you are married you can't be covered under your parent's insurance. I don't really know how it would work, but I would definitely check into it before you sign that marriage license! It might be easier to just NOT get married and you stay on your parents and him on his parent's. Good luck!

Check out Medicaid. Its state insurance. Its free. You dont pay for it and you dont pay any co-pays or anything. Its worth it as long as its going to be a temp thing while you are in school. Do you still plan on being full-time after the baby comes? If you drop down to part time your parents insurance will kick you off anyway.

I might be wrong, but isn't medicaid just for the mother and baby? I am covered by Medicaid right now, but as far as I understand my fiance could not be covered by it (even if we were married). I could be wrong though. But at least you and baby would be covered if you do it that way, and then your husband could either pay out of pocket for insurance or pick up a job that offers insurance. (Some companies offer insurance even for part time employees)!

Medicaid is for everyone. Not just women and children. It is easier to get medicaid if you are pregnant or if you have children (the income brackets are higher than if you were single). But no, medicaid isn't just for women and children.

Yay! I just found out that we can get insurance though school.* And it covers 80% of everything!* And it only costs $155 a year each, and I can still get coverage when I take a semester off since we will be married and the baby will be covered of another $155.* I am so happy!

That's great that you can get it through school. I'm glad you got it figured out. Insurance can be stressful.
