Ok so I know I'm a bit emotional right now anyway with the hormones but this really hurt my feelings.

I was asking the production manager a question about a system we use and offering a suggestion to distinguish different client jobs that would make my job for billing easier and a guy I work with was joking around and asked me rub his feet. I laughed and said I can barely reach my own feet sometimes! I go and come back with an example for the production manager of the system suggestion I had and the first thing he says is "How far along *are* you?" with a tone implying that I'm big and fat for my month. I almost started crying right there but I wasn't about to give him the satisfaction. I've gained about 10 pounds in the last 4 months and it's not anywhere except my belly which is perfectly round and (I think) cute. No big huge butt, no full face, no flabby arms. Just straight up baby belly. When I was at the dr on Monday, she even commented that she hoped I will have gained more weight by next appointment. I've had some pretty severe morning sickness and throw up all the time.

Now I feel like some huge freaking whale.

I just want to go home but I still have another hour and a half to go.

My family has always given birth to big babies. My sister and I were both about 9 lbs and my nephew was a little over 10 lbs. Now I'm all self conscious though.

Aww I can understand, you shouldn't let them get to you though. If it makes you feel better, I am overweight and so I just look like I'm getting fatter. I feel like a truck.

omg men are so dumb. what do they think happens when you're pregnant? that you grow porn star boobs, faint a few times and then all of a sudden you get a baby?

take no notice, if your belly is anyway big its something to be proud of, your baby is growing healthy and strong.

I'm worried cos my belly is small! i'd love if i was told it was big!

lol.. porn star boobs... I wish...

But don't worry... guys have no concept of how women change during pregnancy... Personally I was small and still couldn't reach my feet... I was all belly in the beginning too... Hell I'm still all belly... (just with alot more water retention in my fat christmas ham cankles...) I still measure small... I look like I swallowed a watermelon!!!

But like I said even small tasks like getting in and out of the car were harder when I was 20 weeks... You lose alot of muscle and flexability when you are pregnant and then add to that you have this big bag of water with a baby inside that is right in the center of your body that you have to manuever around.... Its no small feet... next time ask him how pregnant he is...

lol, i like that.

men really have no concept on what happens during pregnancy. my DH is still baffled how it takes me five minutes to physically get outta bed in the morning or how i cry at the andrex toilet paper ad.

Some people are just rude!!!

Before I got pregnant I was really into weight training, running, spin class and boxing... I was in excellent shape. I had 17% body fat and was very lean.

Well, along came pregnancy. . . It doesn't matter what I ate or how often I worked out during... I gained weight. My dr said that my body needs the fat to grow a healthy baby. That an average woman is around 24% body fat and that's what my body was working it's way up to.

Also, I started showing almost instantly. I was 11 weeks when I couldn't hide it anymore and 14 weeks when I needed maternity clothes and packed up my regular clothes. Everyone thought I had to be having twins.... even me .

So when I was 30-32 weeks pregnant approx (can't remember exactly) I was in the office and this co worker comes up to me and says, "######! you are HUGE!" I said, Gee thanks! and turned my head. He said, "NO... I mean You are REALLY huge! Like everywhere! You have chubby arms now and your butt got bigger and your face isn't as thin."

I was in shock.... I didn't even know what to say for a min. Then I said, You shouldn't say things like that to me. I don't really want to hear it and ifyou can't tell, I'm pregnant and obviously my body is changing so I can grow a baby.

He said, "well, you are just so big.... and NICE CLOTHES by the way!"
(I wasn't dressed like my normal professional self because I outgrew a lot of my maternity clothes...which happens in the 3rd trimester)

I was still dressed nice...

FInally I was so upset, I didn't cry though... but another woman caught on a told him to go to his office, shut his door and don't come out. NO one wanted to look at his ugly face and fat belly anymore.

That was the rudest anyone has ever been to me.... ever!

I know that ist's because I'm not as defined as I was, nor as tone and my stomach is no longer flat. I know I'll get back to my pre preggo self once I have this baby and I can't wait til that day happens. I'm going to march myself into work and tell him to kiss my *****!!! Then say.. oh! but you still have your big belly and flat butt!

(I say that... but i don't know if I can be rude back)

Funny .... he has been nice to me every other time he's seen me since. Tells me I look wonderful (I tell him to shut up) and tells me that I'm all belly and cute (I tell him to shut up)... I think it's a game to him now.

Men can be very offensive at times, like my stepdad likes telling me how huge i'm getting and i must be having twins cause i'm so big usually i just ignore it cause he has no idea about being pregnant and he never will. Try not to let it get to i know it's easier said than done. And Leighanne you look so beautiful in all your pictures i dunno how anyone could say you look chubby! I honestly would have never guessed you gained alot of weight during the pregnancy.

Men are odd about that. A coworker brought up the fact that he could see an outie bellybutton under my scrub top a few nights ago in front of a group! I was too embarassed to respond right away on that one, but my female coworkers were picking on him the rest of the night. Sweaters for me next time we work together I guess.

but you shouldnt have to do that just because of one idiot man!!!!!! pregnancy is THE MOST natural thing in the world, there is nothing more normal than being pregnant and all the associated sympthoms such as an outtie belly button (i'm praying for mine...) and then theres men who make you feel like its something to be hidden and ashamed of!

since you wear scrubs i assume you work in a hospital or something? if it is in health care, that man needs to grow up and realise if an outtie belly button freaks him out hes in the wrong profession.

Yea, I know it's much more his problem than mine. I just don't really want him looking there that closely! I think I'm just overly modest at times.
